How to Bulk Edit Grade Items
One way to achieve an organized look and feel to your gradebook is to follow standard naming conventions when creating grade item names. Standard naming should also cascade to your short names. In addition, moving items into appropriate categories will help you easily identify and keep track of grade items.
Performing each of these actions individually can be time-consuming; however, the bulk edit function can make this process much quicker.
To use the bulk edit function:
- Click “Grades” from the blue Nav bar.
2. Click “Manage Grades” from the Gradebook tab.
3. Select the checkbox at the top of the listed grade items to select all grade items. Then choose the bulk edit button above it.
Note: You will not be able to select bulk edit without selecting grade items. You cannot create grade items from the bulk edit screen.
4. The next screen allows you to edit the major categories such as Name, Short Name, Max Points, Bonus, Can Exceed, Grade Scheme, and Category.
Note: Changing Max points after assignments have been submitted can cause discrepancies in your gradebook. If you wish to change a point value, disassociate the item first, then change the point value of the grade item, and then link the item into the gradebook.
5. When you are done editing, click save. Once your changes are saved, you will automatically be re-directed to the manage grades menu.
