Tech QuickTip: Installing Microsoft Office Apps

As part of your student Microsoft licensing, you can install Microsoft Office 365 on up to 5 personal devices. This will work on Windows and Mac computers (desktops and standard laptops).

To do this, go to www.office.com and sign in with your SMC email address and SMC password. In the top right corner of the next screen, after you log in, you will see the option to "Install Office".

Click this button and the installation process will begin. This may take several minutes to download, depending on your Internet speed.

You may be prompted to activate the software the first time you launch it and you just need to log in with your SMC email address and password to do that.

If you have a mobile device or Chromebook, you can use the online version of Microsoft Office by signing into www.office.com with your SMC account.
